There's a hiking trail in the hills right behind the campus. I went for a walk there this afternoon. Flowers have just begun to bloom this past week or so, and I'm excited about the start of spring.
This dog was tied to a shed behind one of the campus bulidings. He REALLY wanted to play and it broke my heart to leave him there. I wanted to unfasten his chain and let him run around for awhile (even though I didn't have a Frisbee) but was afraid I'd never get him tied up again. He had bowls of food and water, so I knew someone was at least minimally looking after him. (The Korean government recently classified dogs as livestock.)
There's also what seems to be a cemetery in the hills behind school. I took these pictures and have to ask one of my Korean friends to explain what I saw.

Hi LIsa:
Happy birthday! (Its still your birthday in the U.S. even though its the day after in Korea)..Do people say South Korea, or just Korea?
What did you do to celebrate? We're having a wicked winter storm here..a foot of snow on the ground. Yuck. We thought we were done with all that..Spring is quite the flirt this year. She winks and then disappears.
xoxo Meg
