The elevator in my office building doesn't have a button with the number 4 (although there are 5 floors). Instead, the fourth floor is indicated by an "F". I was told that this is because "4" resembles the Chinese character representing death. (The Korean alphabet, Hangeul was developed from the Chinese writing system)
Of course, this reminded me of beliefs about the number 13 back home.
