I still don't quite get the Korean attitude toward animals. I've seen a dog meat restaurant, though wouldn't go in (not surprisingly). Yet pet dogs seem to be accessories; they are usually very small breeds and their owners dye their fur bright colors--pink, purple, green. I think the dogs that are eaten are a particular breed
This dog was at the vet where I take my cat, Buddy. He was recovering from having been hit by a car and his owners hadn't decided whether to euthanize him or pay to have his leg amputated. This broke my heart, so I took his picture to show to friends and the Animal Rescue Korea group and told the vet not to kill him, but that I'd find a home for him if the owners didn't want him.
In the end, the owners decided to pay for the amputation, but I still like these pictures, although my brother said the dog looked like a deranged goat.
