The Language Instinct

Well, not exactly the language *instinct* but the foreign language memory process. There must be some foreign language site in the brain (neurosurgeons on TV hospital dramas say there is, so it must be true!). I notice that when I'm reaching for a word in another language, if I don't know it in Korean (which is almost always true), it comes to me in Spanish or sometimes Russian.

Not particularly useful here (though there are a lot of Russian speakers in Seoul, which surprised me when I arrived), but interesting nonetheless.
