I'm a Seoulite!

Back in Korea, I've moved into my new home, in the Haebanchong (sp?) neighborhood of Seoul. It's a great change from Suwon; there are foreign restaurants, TWO English language bookstores in walking distance, Western food markets, and I don't have to catch the last train back to Suwon by 11:00pm or turn into a pumpkin!

It's still kind of amazing to me that I'm starting my third year here, having expected to be here only one.

A small world anecdote--I was in one of the foreign food markets and heard some people speaking Spanish, which isn't very common here. So I asked, in Spanish, where they were from. It turns out they were New Yorkers. Not only that, but from my old Brooklyn neighborhood!

Just started my new job, teaching undergrads and grad students at Soongsil Univeristy (a Christian school that *requires* the Korean faculty to be Christian).

More on Soongsil and living in Seoul to come in future posts....
