My least favorite class of kids to teach was a group of 5-6 year olds. But I did come away with inspiration for Halloween. Here's how....
We were practicing sentences like "I can swim" and "I can jump" etc., and acting out the motions while repeating the words. Apparently, the kids had all watched the Olympics because they started chanting "Michael Phelps!" over and over while making the swimming motion. But they couldn't pronounce his name correctly, so they said it in 3 syllables, with Korean pronunciation.
So, "Phelps" came out sounding like "Pell puh suh"
For some reason, they then starting chanting Lisa Phelps (maybe because he and I are both American?).
And that's how I decided on my Halloween costume. (notice the "medals" and goggles). The man looking rather alarmed in this picture is my good friend Reid.
