Andong Maskdance Festival

A couple of week ago I went with the hiking club to Andong to see the festival there.

One of the highlights was watching this traditional lion dance, though I only have a short video clip.

(The low light of the event was the dog skin at the food and crafts stall.)

Here are a few floating masks I especially liked. They're not "traditional," but I think the festival is evolving, like everything else.

A couple of funny things at the bus stop on the way home---I wasn't sure I was in the right place for the bus to Suwon and started to head into the station to try to ask someone when I head "She sells sea shells by the sea short." behind me. I turned around and saw a young Korean man who was practicing his English pronunciation. So, I asked him about the bus and he helped me with no problems.

Once on the bus and en route our first piece of musical accompaniment was the theme from Ghost Busters.
