Today I went shopping at Homever, the local mega-supermarket. It was the first time I heard non-stop Christmas carols here. They were all in English, except for Feliz Navidad, which made me smile. Most were benign--reindeer and Frosty and so forth. At one point they got really religious and I wondered how much my fellow shoppers understood of the lyrics about the holy baby, etc.
For a wonderful change of pace Annie Lennox came over the sound system, singing "Would I Lie to You?", which made me smile even more than Feliz Navidad.
