Idioms with insects

One of my students was complaining about feeling old because today she turned 30. An older student told her not to "show wrinkles to a caterpillar" which cracked me up. (the idea being that it's silly to pretend to have a lot of wrinkles, or to be old, when talking to someone who genuinely is old, or at least significantly older)
